Recently, I asked a counselee struggling with an addiction: “Can God be trusted?”
The question was asked because clearly the counselee was trusting himself more than God. He didn’t want to let go of the addictive pleasure. At a basic heart level, anyone struggling with an addiction is trusting Self as god and is trusting Self more than God Almighty.
So let me ask you this question: “Can you trust God?” Are you struggling to let go of something or someone when you know that He is leading you to trust Him by letting go? Ask yourself: “Can I trust God with this area of my life?”
Intellectually, I KNOW that you know the right answer is “Yes, God can be trusted.” But that’s not what I’m asking. I’m really asking you – “Are you really trusting God in all things and in all areas of your life and with all those in your life OR are you trying to control those circumstances and those people?”
Are there any areas in your life that you are struggling to give God control over?
