This is a very thought-provoking 5 minute video called Addiction. There are certain truths here that are right on target: relational connections help addicts to stay clean and sober. I believe those relationships must be one with Christ and then with other people.
Matthew 22:37-40 reminds us of the relational connections we need:
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
Watch the video and then make a comment here on this blog. Love to know what you think about it. Here is a second video called Addiction and the Rat Park Experiments.
“Connection is the opposite of addiction” is what they say in the video. I would simply add that since addiction is a worship disorder, the connection with Christ is the opposite of addiction and only comes through confession, repentance, and faith in God.
